Taste of the West Outstanding Social Media Award – Terms and Conditions of Entry

1.    Free Entry
Entry to the Taste of the West Outstanding Social Media Award is completely free of charge. There are no fees associated with submitting an entry at any stage of the process.
2.    Eligibility
To be eligible for entry:
•    Entrants must be affiliated with a food and/or drink business based in the South West of England — including Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, the Channel Islands, Somerset, Wiltshire, and Gloucestershire.
•    Entrants must be actively managing a public-facing social media account that is relevant to their business or brand.
•    Entries must reflect social media content created and shared within the 12 months prior to submission.
3.    Entry Periods and Judging Timeline
•    Phase One: March – May 2025
The entry window will run from 1st March to 31st May 2025. Judging for this phase will take place during the first week of June 2025 (exact date TBC).
•    Phase Two: June – August 2025
The entry window will reopen from 1st June to 31st August 2025. Judging for this phase will take place during the first week of September 2025 (exact date TBC).
•    Finalist Shortlisting
Finalists will be selected during September 2025 following the second judging period.
4.    How to Enter
Entry details will be available via the official Taste of the West Awards website and through our social media channels. Entrants must complete the online entry form and provide their business's active social media handles and platforms.
5.    Judging Criteria
Entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
•    Originality and creativity
•    Engagement with the audience
•    Consistency of posting and branding
•    Overall impact and effectiveness across platforms
               Judging will be conducted by an independent panel in coordination with Taste of the West. All decisions are final.
6.    Finalists and Winner Announcement
Finalists will be contacted directly and announced publicly following the September judging period. The overall winner (champion) will be revealed at the Taste of the West Awards Ceremony.
7.    Consent and Publicity
By entering, participants agree that Taste of the West may use submitted content, business names, and social media handles in promotional materials and publicity relating to the awards.
8.    Amendments to Terms
Taste of the West reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any significant changes will be communicated to entrants in advance.
9.    GDPR and Data Privacy
By submitting an entry, participants consent to the collection and processing of their personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and data protection laws.
•    Personal data provided (such as contact information and social media handles) will be used solely for the administration of the Taste of the West Awards.
•    Data will be securely stored and will not be shared with third parties without the entrant’s explicit consent, except where required for the judging process or event promotion.
•    Entrants may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their data at any time by contacting Taste of the West.
